There were many famous women in the 19th century. Women were writers and mathematicians. They were also rulers and explorers The following is a list of some of the great women of the 19th century.

Mary Kies 1752-1837

Mary Kies was the first American woman to be granted a patent

Jane was a great writer

Elizabeth Fry 1780-1845

Elizabeth was a great prison reformer

Henriette D’Angeville 1794-1871

In 1838 Henriette became the first woman to climb Mount Blanc unaided

Mary was a writer. She is famous for her novel Frankenstein.

She is famous for her book Uncle Tom’s Cabin

Ada was a famous mathematician

In Britain, Grace Darling helped her father row a little boat 1 mile through a storm to rescue 5 people from a steamship that had struck rocks. She became a heroine.
